C4AR Advisory Group​

The Consent for Approach for Research (C4AR) Database is managed by the UK Kidney Association (UKKA) and is led by patients, for patients through the UKKA Patient Council, ensuring that people living with kidney disease are at the heart of how the database is developed and used.

The Patient Council is supported by the C4AR Advisory Group, which brings together patient representatives, patient advocates and experts from across the UK kidney community, including national patient charities, NHS organisations, researchers and clinical specialists. The group also includes expertise from primary care, physiotherapy, pain management and psychology, together with representatives from paediatric services and the devolved nations.

The C4AR Advisory Group helps to:

•Advise on research priorities that matter most to people living with kidney disease.
•Review requests for collaborative research projects.
•Promote awareness of the C4AR Database.
•Share research findings with patients and the wider kidney community.
•Encourage collaboration and help avoid unnecessary duplication of research.

 

Together, the UKKA Patient Council and the C4AR Advisory Group help ensure that C4AR remains patient-centred, transparent and focused on improving kidney research and care.
